My New Etsy Shop and Gardening Update

Hi Everyone! How have you been?  Isn’t this sunshine glorious!

Sorry I’ve been MIA for a bit.  I’ve been a little busy with a few things.  First……yesterday was another beautiful day so I got out of the house and went to Joann Fabrics for some yarn and then to Walmart for this and that.  I was so excited to see that they put out their seed displays! That’s a sure sign of spring!!!  I picked out romaine lettuce, bib lettuce, radishes, sugar snap peas, Roma tomatoes for salsa, jack-o-lantern pumpkins, and daisies, and a wildfire mixture.  gardengirl   Awwww… isn’t she cute!!

I also picked up some horse manure from my dad’s farm the other day.  It still needs to decompose a little more so I need to get a big bag of lime to help it along.  I’m also going to use some of the wonderful compost that it at the bottom of our compost pile.  It seems like I keep adding to the pile, but never take from it.  This year is going to be different.  I have a friend coming over and he is going to help me move around the top layer so we can get to the good stuff on the bottom.  I wouldn’t be able to do that without some extra help because of my hip and for being out of shape from sitting around all winter.

I need all of these extras to add to my gardens because the soil isn’t that great.  I live in an area where the soil has a lot of clay in it.  Every spring I need to buy some fresh soil to add and then rototill the soil/poop/compost mixture in the garden beds.

Anyhow, I’m going to start the Roma seeds in pots, but the rest I’m going to sow right in the ground.  Say a little garden prayer for me, will ya?  hahahahahaha!

Secondly, I have started my own Etsy shop!  Since I’m out of work, I figured I might as well give it a go.  I’m starting out slow with only a few things in there for now.  But guess what?  I sold my first item!!!  YAY!!! It was so exciting to wake up to an email that I sold one of my baby blankets!!  I will be adding two more baby blankets before this weekend is up, and then I’m going to start on making cards.  Here is the link to my shop if you would like to check it out.

mmmshopbanneroriginal copy Well, I’m off to get some lunch and relax a little more.  I have a birthday party at a bar to go to and my anxiety level is already pretty high.  I’m sure I’m going to have to take some Xanax before I go.  I hope I make it through the night.  Having this fear of being out of my comfort zone (agoraphobia) is no fun at all!!  But I’ll be damned if I let it keep me from being at one of my best girlfriend’s birthday bashes. Especially since I helped put the party together!!

I’ll let you know how it went.

Have a wonderful Friday and enjoy the sunshine if you’ve got it!!!

Angel Blessings,

P.S.  I have a picture for you to ponder!!!  What in the world possessed someone to do this!!!

I hate to admit it, but my mother had a "flower pot", too. Visitors always got a chuckle out of it. She also had a "flower bed." Her sense of humor was a bit quirky.

Good luck with your garden. I love the fresh veggies, but it is just too much work for me anymore. Enjoy your garden for me, too, okay?

Snow here yesterday and today, so spring and yard work is on hold for a while. :o(
