The Simple Woman’s Daybook

For Monday, May 25, 2009 – Memorial Day

Outside my window... The sun is setting and it’s a perfectly cool evening.  What a nice day we had again today!
I am thinking... That I’m grateful for the laughs I had this weekend.
I am thankful for... My MOM! (We might have our moments, but all in all, she is great!)
From the kitchen... A clean kitchen after a cookout with family and a few friends of my mothers.
I am wearing... Nothing.  It’s bed time. (sorry – TMI.)
I am creating... I bought a thrifty store wicker foot stool for my grandma to use while sitting in the family room (very lightweight and easy for her to move out of the way) that I’m going to sand and paint and make a foam pillow top for.
I sewed the holes and rips in 5 horse blankets tonight. Geesh! They were stinky! My dad and his wife have an equine business. Things are pretty slow right now though.)
I am going... To watch another Hercules Poi rot mystery tonight. Yay! Love him!
I am reading... Nothing right now.  Too much going on to get involved with a book.
I am hoping... That my friend Michael quickly gets through the difficulty he is in. (You wouldn’t believe it if I told ya’ll.  Unfortunately, no happily ever after this time.)
I am hearing... The sound of frogs.  I found a couple in my backyard by my little pond, which is one of those water feature things that I put in myself. It’s very basis, but pretty.
Around the house... There is a list of things to be done, but unfortunately, they are all tasks I’m not capable of doing. I guess we’re going to hire one of my mom’s friends son to help us get them done, as he is out of a job right now and it would really help him out too.
One of my favorite things... Since today was a day for a food… I’d say one of my favorite things for a day like today is Hebrew National hotdogs. (Is there anyone else out there that can’t eat the regular Ballpark hotdogs because of the fillers they put in them? I get so sick from those.) Anyhow, I like the Hebrew Nationals. They’re tasty.
A few plans for the rest of the week:  Nothing out of the ordinary.  Just work (thank goodness!) and love up my sweet Frankie!
Here is picture thought I am sharing...

You DO have a lot going on in your life right now. I am sure some days it feels like you are juggling several balls at the same time. It is great that you have found someone to help you with some of the maintenance tasks around the house. I can't seem to find anyone who wants to mess with the "small jobs."
